1. Definitions & Scope
- “App / Service” refers to OnInsights.ai, our software made available to Shopify merchants.

“Store Data” is any data accessible through Shopify API scopes to which you grant OnInsights.ai access (product data, order metadata, shop settings, etc.).

“We / Us / Our” refers to OnInsights.ai and its operators.

“You / Your” refers to the Shopify merchant installing the app or approving data access.

2. Data We Collect & Why
‍When you install OnInsights.ai, we request certain Shopify permissions. Depending on the scopes authorized, the data we may access includes the following:

‍Shop Metadata
‍- Store name, domain, owner info, contact email
- Currency, locale, region (e.g. GDPR region)
- Theme metadata and app-installation metadata

Product & Catalog Data
- Product titles, descriptions, variants, tags, pricing, inventory counts, images, collections
- Catalog counts (e.g. total products, collections)

Order Metadata
- Order timestamps, line-item metadata, totals, revenue, order counts, associated customer IDs (non-sensitive)

Customer Metadata
- Customer counts, new vs returning flags (if permitted), creation timestamps — not sensitive payment data

We do not request or store sensitive personal information like customers’ payment details, full PII beyond what Shopify’s scopes permit, or any data beyond what is required for the app’s functionality.

- Providing and maintaining OnInsights.ai (calculating instant insights, analytics, AI summaries, dashboards)
- Generating AI-powered store summaries and catalog/insight reports
- Improving our service and performing internal analytics (e.g. usage metrics, feature improvements)
- Responding to your support requests (if you contact us)

We do not sell, rent, or share your store data to third-party marketing/advertising companies.

- Data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard protection.
- We implement access controls, encryption at rest and in transit (where applicable), and regular security audits.
- While we strive to protect your data, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we commit to reasonable safeguards.

5. Data Retention & Deletion
- We retain your store’s data only as long as your account with OnInsights.ai remains active.
- If you uninstall the app, or request deletion, we will remove your store data within 48 hours (or other time frame depending on Shopify’s requirements and scope access rules).
- Aggregated or anonymized data (if any) may be retained for internal analytics or product improvement purposes.
